West Overton Village Historic Autumn Wedding | Alyssa+Tim
Humor, creativity, and being different. Those are the qualities that drew Alyssa+Tim together.
They are happy being themselves and truly embrace everyone else’s weirdness too! How wonderful is that?!
A few years back Alyssa+Tim met while both working at Walmart. From the first time Alyssa saw Tim she thought he seemed like someone she wanted to get to know. But she was too afraid to go up and talk to him. Hello butterflies. She ended up adding him on Facebook, where she boldly decided to message him. From there they talked until he inevitably invited her to hang out. Getting out of her comfort zone, she agreed to stop by his apartment. They drank whisky on the rocks and hung out with Tim’s brother and girlfriend. It wasn’t meant to be a date, but Alyssa counts it as their first one. After a couple weeks of talking and hanging out went by until Tim asked Alyssa to officially be his girlfriend. However, since she had recently gotten out of a relationship, Alyssa said initially said no. But the heart knows what it wants and Alyssa couldn’t stop thinking about Tim. A few weeks later Alyssa ended up asking if he'd be her boyfriend after she realized that she was falling in love with him.
So how did Tim decide to propose? Well according to Alyssa, he had been thinking about proposing for a while because he waited until the 2,255 day that they had been dating. The significance? He knew Alyssa liked the numbers two and five. Alyssa came home from work and Tim had made two of her favorite dishes… broccoli cheese chowder and a mushroom and soy sauce grilled cheese. Food can definitely be a love language. As they sat on the porch eating, Tim was starting to act strange. Alyssa was so nervous she demanded that he tell her what was going on. Then just like that, he was on one knee with a ring! Being so shocked her initial response was “What?!” She just couldn't believe Tim had proposed, as it really felt like she was dreaming. Of course she followed this with a yes!
Their October wedding took place at West Overton Village and was dotted with shades of burgundy+mauve. The venue’s aesthetic totally complemented Alyssa+Tim’s eclectic style. From the lace gown and antique pearl ring worn by Alyssa, to the vintage style top hat shown off by Tim, this pair was a true classic retro dream. The day was full of jokes followed by laughter and plenty of whisky shared with close friends. It was a day to celebrate them and that’s exactly what they did!
Alyssa+Tim, here’s to wishing the two of you many more days filled with playing board games and nights spent drinking whisky on the rocks!
