Vintage Inspired Boho Autumn Elopement at Frick Park | Ashley+Corey

I met Ashley a couple years ago through Instagram. At the time her and Corey had just got engaged but she already knew one wedding detail was for certain. They wanted to elope. Due to various personal reasons eloping was what felt right for them. Plus they didn’t want a big showy day, just one that focused on the love they had for each other. I knew that no matter what they planned it would be special and I knew that they were going to be such a sweet couple to work with! They are two of the most kind people you will ever meet, if you know them, you love them!

Ashley+Corey met while attending college at Seton Hill during a talent show. At the time Ashley had just started dating Corey's suite mate so their love story was put on hold. But after that relationship ended, Corey and Ashley started to hang out. They remember how they would watch funny YouTube videos in his dorm. Corey would always walk her down the hall back to her dorm and would always give Ashley a hug goodbye (she admits she was always waiting for him to kiss her but said that he never did because he was too polite). Eventually Corey asked her out and their first date was at a hookah lounge that used to be in Greensburg. From there their relationship grew over the years, eventually leading to a trip to Japan which then turned into a proposal!

In October 2019 Corey proposed to Ashley at the Sensoji Asakura temple in Tokyo, Japan under a giant lantern. They were walking around the temple and Ashley was ready to go to the next site. But Corey insisted there was something else she had to see. With tourists walking by, under the lantern, he got down on one knee and proposed!

Ashley and Corey love playing the acoustic guitar together, art, nature and their cats. They incorporated all of these things into their elopement day, which is one of the benefits of eloping. Tailoring your day to reflect who you are as a couple is one of our favorite aspects when it comes to your elopement.

The day started at a mid-mod Airbnb where Corey and Ashley exchanged personal gifts and got dressed separately with the help of two of their closest friends. Ashley wore a gorgeous velvet and lace boho dress with a hat decorated with florals and a pair of burgundy flower embroidered boots. Corey looked so dapper in his custom maroon tux with embroidered details and a vintage paisley tie.

Once they were dressed and ready the two rode in separate cars to Frick Park where they shared a first look together. They chose a secluded spot to exchange vows and on our walk there we got to witness a few friendly deer up close. The glimpse at nature was a beautiful sign for two nature lovers. After exchanging some seriously tear jerking vows they watered a bonsai tree together as a token of their joining unity.

The remainder of their day included playing the guitar among the fall leaves, hanging out in a vintage VW bus and celebrating with a small group of friends and family at their reception at the art studio You Are Here. Ashley put so much thought into their personal reception details. This could really be seen in the tiny canvases she painted for each place setting. Each a unique scene related to the person sitting there. Those were hands down one of our favorite details we have ever seen on a wedding day!

After dinner they encouraged everyone to step outside to witness their first dance as husband and wife. They shared their first dance out on the sidewalk, under the street lights at dusk. Afterwards, wanting to step away for a minute they snuck off for a few blue hour portraits in the alleyway where they shared a few laughs and danced just a little more. It was the perfect way to close out a perfectly them day!

Ashely+Corey thank-you for allowing us to be a part of such a meaningful day between the two of you. We loved every minute of it. You guys have such a beautiful, accepting and mature love that can be so rare to find these days. We wish you a lifetime of this kind of love in a home filled with big laughs, good music and kitty snuggles! Congrats!
