Tasha+James | Mt. Washington Pittsburgh City Elopement
Tasha+James are a true reminder that you only need to include the things that matter to you on your wedding day. For them this looked like a backyard ceremony at James’ parents home in Lawrenceville. It looked like simplistic but chic attire and a handmade bouquet. It included their two dogs Boudica and Amelia and only their closest family members to witness their hand written vows. It looked like autumn portraits on Mt. Washington with the Pittsburgh skyline behind them. It included fine food and drinks overlooking the city as the skyscraper lights twinkled from their view at Atlius.
Their elopement took place on their five year anniversary, after meeting on Tinder in 20015. James invited Tasha to Bar Marco for drinks. She had been wanting to try Bar Marco so she was totally down to meet him after work. At the time Tasha was selling furniture at Macy’s and she recalls wearing a black sweater and a red a-line skirt, paired with red lipstick and a low bun. In her words it was her “chic money making outfit”. On that first date she did most of the talking and thought James was nice but not at all interested in her. Like a gentleman he paid and then walked her to her car. To her surprise he tried to kiss her, but she was taking off guard and cheeked him! Things naturally progressed over time and later Tasha asked James what he liked about her on that first date. His response? He admitted that she did a lot of talking so he didn’t have to. This shows the yin and yang to their relationship perfectly!
While in Prague in December of 2019, James chose to propose to Tasha on the Charles Bridge. Tasha had attended grad school in Prague and shortly after they began dating James flew in to visit her. Since then the city had been meaningful to them. Making it a romantic and sentimental place to propose!
Tasha+James thank-you so much for trusting us to be a part of such a meaningful and intimate day between you and your families! Cheer’s to a long and happy marriage filled with shared take-out (even when Tasha isn’t hungry ha!) and all the dog cuddles in bed!
