Golden Autumn Wedding at Rustic Acres Farm | Rosie+Mac

Shortly after Rosie+Mac hired us to photograph their wedding, I was reading through their answers on their questionnaire. Their love story sounded like a movie and being a sentimental romantic I actually teared-up at just how sweet the answers were. Two kind, intelligent and totally in love people out to embrace life together! I knew then that working with them was going to be such a beautiful experience.

Rosie and Mac first met on the dock of Presque Isle Bay in Erie, PA. At the time they both worked for neighboring boat companies. Mac was a water taxi captain and Rosie sold boat tickets. Stealing glances at one another, Mac recalls being star struck by her outgoing and friendly personality from day zero. He began asking her on dates to anywhere and everywhere, offering boat rides to her and just about anything to get to know her more. Mac’s charm was working and Rosie agreed to a first date of mini golf. They ended the day by going to Bicentennial Tower in Erie to look out over Lake Erie, fireworks included. Mac remembers that night they fell in love like yesterday. As he looked into Rosie’s eyes knowing that they gave way to how deeply they felt for each other.

After that first date Rosie’s heart knew that there was just something about Mac that was special to her and she couldn’t help but quickly fall in love with him.

Fast forward to the proposal, which was a total surprise to Rosie. She admits that she knew it would be happening sometime soon, but definitely hadn’t expected it to be that day. Rosie’s sister Emily called to let her know that she was coming to Cleveland and asked if she wanted to go to a winery together. Knowing that they both love a good winery, it was nothing out of the ordinary. Emily sent Rosie a winery that “she found” (Mac and her were plotting the entire time...) and Rosie said it looked perfect! When they arrived on the day of, they somehow immediately got a table at Gervasi Vineyards even though there were more than ten parties ahead of them. Mac had sweet talked his way into a table saying he was proposing that night. Yet Rosie still wasn’t suspicious.

After dinner, they all went to the vineyards to take pictures with Emily’s boyfriend, who had a nice camera (Rosie, still unsuspicious about it because he brings it along to most places). While they were out in the vineyard taking photos, Mac took the opportunity to get down on one knee and propose! Funny enough, Rosie didn’t know if she should believe him or not because sometimes when he gets excited, Mac fauxposes to Rosie. Obviously this time was the real deal because in Rosie's words “there was a big ol’ diamond involved”. Of course, Rosie said yes, and they agree it was just the most amazing night!

When it came time for Rosie and Mac’s wedding day I knew there was a pretty good chance that it would be just about perfect. Inspired by autumn, wild flowers and effortless chic vibes all I can say is that it did not disappoint. Between how sweet these two are and fact that they looked like a million bucks, the gorgeous rustic venue (Rustic Acres Farm) and ideal weather plus the gorgeous autumn light, it was the ideal combination for a perfect wedding day!

They started the morning by getting ready with their friends in the wedding cottages on site, taking time to read letters from one another and then shared a first look before heading out for group photos with their wedding party. Their ceremony took place under a large old willow tree next to a beautiful pond as the sun drifted into golden hour. Afterwards we spent some time together frolicking through a large open field and took a stroll down a quiet country road...all while soaking up some of the best golden light we have had this season. The reception started off with heartfelt speeches from their siblings and friends which led into a deliciously curated family style dinner. They closed out the evening by dancing their hearts out on the dance floor accompanied by their favorite people!

It was such a beautiful day for two beautiful humans and we are so grateful we could be a part of it! Cheers to this next chapter, congrats Rosie+Mac!
