Mammoth Park Pennsylvania Wedding | Cait+Aaron
Last May we photographed Mark+Laura's wedding. It was the first wedding Jp second shot with me on and honestly he should consider himself lucky. Mark+Laura are still one of our favorite couples, mainly because they invited us into their circle like we had known them for years. By the end of the night Jp had made friends with most of the groomsmen, selfies and all. This group included Aaron (aka Siko), Mark's best-man. So when he and Cait reached out about documenting their wedding day this year, we were legit so excited to be reunited with this fun group of people!
They met in college and started a friendship as they both lived in the same hallway of their dorm at California University of PA. They shared one brief kiss but yet never dated. Even after going their separate ways after graduation they always kept in touch. In 2015, Aaron moved back to Western PA and Cait was living in Butler. After all those years, the connection was still there. Aaron was much more sure about it all, and after some convincing, Caitlin got on board! It has been a whirlwind ride ever since, with job changes, a masters degree for Cait, and a period of time spent living 3 hours away from each other. But they both say they wouldn't trade it for anything.
So how did Siko decide to propose after all these years? On Easter 2018, Aaron told Caitlin's family very nonchalantly that he would be proposing at the annual Cherry Festival weekend in July. So July rolled around and sure enough, he kept his word. They went to Presque Isle State Park for a walk on the beach. Siko says "Caitlin was looking at something and complaining about wanting ice cream". He then asked her "Are you sure you want ice cream?" as he was holding the ring! Caitlin was shocked, and didn't believe it was real, then basically jumped on Aaron and knocked him over!
Their mid-summer wedding had hints of rustic elements mixed with blue and ivory colors. They spent the day surrounded by their favorite people, laughing, joking and soaking it all in. From the traditional ceremony to the laid back large wedding reception, we tagged along with them documenting this part of their love story. Throughout the day it felt like we were just hanging out with old friends. We even stayed and danced with everyone as we seriously missed everyone since seeing them last at Mark+Laura's wedding!
Here's to wishing this caring, witty, hilarious couple years of laughter and happiness! We'll see you guys at Friendsgiving!
