Mingo Creek Park Elopement | Dallas+Marissa
When Dallas and Marissa reached out to me, they had already booked a big wedding venue but were having second thoughts. They were quickly realizing that, for them, a traditional wedding wasn't worth the stress or money. So we talked about other options, and I showed them that they could have a day that fit their dreams not someone else's. They knew they wanted to be in nature and they wanted only their closest family to attend. But they also wanted to keep things simple and laid back.
This was the result. A quiet, easy day in October at one of their favorite local parks. They got ready separately and met up at Mingo Creek Park in Finleyville, PA for a first look. We spent some time wandering around taking pictures and soaking up the vibrant fall colors. They read private letters next to the creek and laughed a whole lot. Their family arrived and with the help of officiant Stephanie from Become One, their short but meaningful ceremony took place under the trees. Everyone then headed over to Cedarbrook Golf Course for a catered meal, where they cut their cake and shared a first dance. It was perfect for what they both wanted. Including only the things they wanted to and leaving all the rest.
Making the decision to change plans when you’ve already started planning a wedding can be scary but I am so proud of them for realizing that a big wedding wasn't what they wanted and deciding to elope instead. They couldn't have been happier with the decision and we love that for them!
Congrats Marissa+Dallas! Cheers to this new adventure as husband and wife and soon to be mom+dad! We can’t wait to see where this first year of married life takes you!
